Kerri Morrison-McCabe

After the birth of her daughter Addyson in 2012, Kerri found herself with a series of symptoms related to pelvic floor dysfunction.  After 16 years of being a pilates instructor, corrective exercise specialist and holistic lifestyle coach in the health and fitness industry, she seemed like the most unlikely person to have to go through such a thing. Organ prolapse, abdominal pain and incontinence, these are all symptoms that Kerri has researched and have found solutions to. Over the past 4 years Kerri has successfully rehabilitated her own pelvic floor, received a certification from Hypopressives Canada and has assisted many clients and professionals in this domain.

re:core

re:core is a company dedicated to opening up the conversation around issues such as incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction and painful sex due to compression in the lower abdominal cavity in women as well as men. As professionals, we need to know how to have conversations with our patients and clients about these issues, have resources on hand and solutions in place to help them. Clients, you need to know that you are not alone and that we can help. re:core offers services for both clients and professionals.

For the first time in Ottawa, re:core systems presents the Complete Core Class: Core & Pelvic Floor. This 12 week program has been designed to Re:set, Re:store, Re:stabilize and Re:structure the core unit.

Intro to Hypopressive Low Pressure Fitness: June 18, 2016

The Hypopressive techniques were created in Europe by Dr. Marcel Caufriez in 1980, with the goal of helping postnatal women prevent and recover from pelvic floor dysfunctions such as incontinence and prolapse. The workshop will review the science behind the technique, the need for change in our approach to pelvic floor as well as a 1-hour practice (exercises and breathing methods).

Pelvic Floor: Dysfunction, Assessment and Treatment

Incontinence, low abdominal pain and abdominal pressure has been an issue in athletics affecting both women AND men for a long time. Often not talked about or identified properly, athletes are forced to suffer in silence. This is no different for postnatal women, women who have had C-sections in particular, or for our aging population. As professionals, let's learn how to identify, assess and program appropriately for our clients and patients. Let's open up the conversation and REALLY help our athletes, moms and clients live without embarrassment or a sense of uncertainty.
